Walking on Air

Cutiepie has become an amateur photographer since she received her own camera. She loves to capture candid shots of Short Stuff and The Boy as well. This is one of her editorial shots. She was laying on a blanket at a community event and decided to get a shot of her shoes in the air against the backdrop of pure blue sky. You would never guess that all around her there were children dancing and music playing and people eating and games and activities in every direction. I especially love the fact that you can see the words "All Star" on her Converse - that says it all!

The Boy stands up to Vader at the Star Wars Exhibit in DC with CC. According to The Boy, "This is the real costume that Darth Vader used. Everything else you see below is also real: Han Solo, Chewbacca and the Cherry Blossoms."

Swimming, Anyone?

Our pool is finished and we have been enjoying it (after school and homework) for a couple of weeks now. The Dad's barbecue is done too, so we have also been enjoying some great summertime meals. But it's not just chicken and burgers - he makes some mean grilled veggies... scrumptious! So now the countdown is underway: 8 more school days and we're officially plunging into summer! After that, we expect to be wrinkly, puckered and thoroughly waterlogged all day long.

Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow

Check out the girls in the 'before and after' photos. (Cutiepie is staying true to the idea that in the 'before' photo you should look unhappy.) They decided to donate their hair to Locks of Love. The girls both had the required ten-inch minimum length, so this time they could donate together. (Short Stuff has donated her hair once before.) Bye-bye, hippie hair... Hello, short and sassy!
